Hi, I am Pastor Tim. As my title indicates, I am the pastor here at Eastwood. I do most of the preaching and teaching at our Sunday morning worship services. I am also responsible for our staff and report to our Elders’ Board, of which I am a member.
My wife Tanya and I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We have four grown children who are living and studying in other parts of Ontario. We also have a chocolate lab named Myka, who reminds us to get out and walk every day.
My leisure time is usually spent working around our home or fixing our vehicles. I am one of those rare pastors who know how to use tools.
My passion is to see Eastwood continue to grow in passionate worship of our glorious God by faithful and fearless exposition of the Word of God. My prayer is that, through this, God will make us into a soul-winning, disciple-making church. Another of my passions is teaching pastors and church leaders in India.
I have many favourite verses. One of them is Romans 8:1: “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
Thomas is a sinner saved by the grace of God. He is currently the pastoral intern at Eastwood. Thomas serves the church primarily through youth ministry to students in grades 6-12. He enjoys basketball, reading theology, and his wife, Kristin, but not necessarily in that order.
Thomas is passionate about telling lost sinners what God has done and helping saved sinners get involved in what God is doing. He hopes to equip young people to defend, share, and grow in their relationship with God.
One of Thomas's favourite verses is 2 Corinthians 12:15: "I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls" (ESV).
Stephanie is the Church Administrator and is thankful for the opportunity to work alongside the leadership at Eastwood and interact with the church family. Stephanie is involved in the Awana and A/V ministries. She is also an author, freelance writer and editor, and a labour doula.
Stephanie desires an ever-deepening relationship with the Lord, His Word, and those He brings into her life. It is her desire to encourage others to draw close to God—through a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ—and rejoice in His love and faithfulness.
Among her favourite scripture passages is Hebrews 10:24-25, which says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” (ESV).
Dave and Stephanie are custodians at Eastwood. They have attended Eastwood for over 30 years. Dave has been involved in the music ministry since moving to St. Thomas in 1984. He has also worked for Eastwood Housing since that time. Both Dave and Stephanie are involved in Awana, working with the Grades 3-5 Truth and Training (T & T) group.
Dave has a passion for pointing others to the Lord through both music and children’s ministry. His favourite verse is Romans 12:1-2, which says, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (ESV).
Barbara has been the bookkeeper at Eastwood for almost 12 years. Mathematics has always been of high interest for her. She strives to be efficient and hopes to develop closer relationships with those she interacts with at work.
Married, with five children and three grandchildren, Barbara likes to be outdoors, including riding her motorcycle.
She is very passionate about living for Christ and helping her family and friends see how Christ can fill their lives as well.
Her favourite verse is Ephesians 4:29: “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
